At Kuhn, Doyle & Kuhn, we strive for, and deliver, results for
our clients. Here's a sampling of the latest:
BAD
FAITH DENIAL OF CLAIMS BY INSURANCE COMPANIES
We successfully represented a widow who was denied payment of
a life insurance benefit after her handicapped husband was killed
in an automobile accident in Alaska. After extensive depositions
of the company's officials in New York City, the case settled
shortly before trial for many times the amount of the insurance
policy.
NURSING HOME RESIDENTS
Our attorneys have represented a number of nursing home residents
with claims against facilities for injuries ranging from bedsores
to death. The significant settlement amounts cannot be disclosed
due to confidentiality agreements.
CAPITAL MURDER
We recently successfully represented a foreign national who
was charged in a rural Texas County with murder.
GRAND JURY MATTERS
In addition to handling criminal jury trials, we represent individuals
who are being investigated by law enforcement authorities or
grand juries. The firm obtained immunity for a person
investigated by the Whitewater team of the Independent Counsel's
Office.
DEFECTIVE AUTOMOBILE DESIGN
The firm has handled cases involving improper design of vehicles
resulting in rollovers or inadequate crashworthiness.
FIRESTONE/FORD
EXPLORER
We have succesfully handled litigation on behalf of several
clients arising from deaths and injuries due to Firestone ATX
tire separation and Ford Explorer rollovers.
MASS TORTS
We handle claims involving large numbers of individuals injured
by defective products including medical devices, prosthetics,
drugs, contraceptives, and pharmaceuticals.
APPEALS
The firm has decades of experience in civil and criminal appeals
at the federal and state level. It has been successful in reversing
dozens of convictions in criminal matters and is frequently
retained for the purpose of appeal by defendants who were represented
by other counsel at trial. We are often called upon by other
attorneys to assist in civil and criminal appellate matters and have represented
other lawyers successfully in appeals of sanctions assessed
against them by federal judges.
The results
obtained depend on the facts and circumstances of each case.
