community

KUHN, DOYLE & KUHN, P.C. attorneys and staff are involved in the community to enhance Austin’s quality of life.

PRO BONO
Each attorney devotes a significant amount of time to the representation of individuals who do not have the funds to otherwise secure counsel. The State Bar of Texas has recognized members of the firm for their contributions to low-income Texans in this regard and the attorneys regularly accept unpaid referrals from Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas. In addition, we often provide advice without charge to members of the Austin arts and entertainment community.

POLITICAL INVOLVEMENT
Through their memberships in various professional organizations, the attorneys attempt to influence the development of legislation beneficial to the firm’s clients and the citizens of Central Texas. The firm is actively involved in the political process and regularly hosts functions for local and state judges and other elected officials.

HEALTH AND PHYSICAL FITNESS
The staff and attorneys believe that physical fitness is an important life component. To that end, the firm supports (through participation and donations) a wide variety of local athletic and fitness activities, including the YMCA, Capital 10,000, Austin Marathon, and Ride for the Roses. Employees are encouraged to participate in such activities and the firm subsidizes other costs involved in such participation. We regularly hold a company retreat centering on physical fitness events.

CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS
Given the recent cuts in government support for charitable groups, we believe that it is more important than ever to contribute to as wide an assortment of volunteer and charitable organizations as possible. Members have served on the board of disease research organizations, and staff members are actively involved in their communities, such as the Friends of the Library, Meals on Wheels, and the Chamber of Commerce.
